I really did. I thought I was going to be in a dark grey world the rest of my life until I met you. And I thank Dr Russ for sending me here. It was a Gd send. My daughter picked me up the other day from the medical plaza. She had question upon question about the surgery. "But mother!" she said. "Why didn't they do something before!"

I can't tell you how good it feels and how happy I am to be able to see and read. I gave up reading and doing anything. Watching TV. I'd listen to it, but I gave up watching it because it was all a blur, looking grey.
But, with your guidance and help, you have renewed my faith. I feel like I hit the summit of Mt Everest and finally reached the top. I'm free and I can see. I put my glasses in the donation box because I'm not wearing glasses not again.
I was a +7, very farsighted. My first glasses weren't so bad, but as I went on, my glasses got so thick. This is what we called coke bottle glasses. When I was a kid and made fun of those coke bottle glasses, and here I lived it. It was an experience I had.
Thanks to you, the technology, I know that anybody I talk to, I will tell them that Chu Eye Institute. If they need surgery, I'll tell them don't be scared. See Dr Richard. You are an angel. You do it and do it right, and i appreciate it very much.
Your staff, I can't tell you enough about them. I saw Mark, Philip, Melissa, everybody. Even Sabrina and the lady up front were extremely nice - a great crew. Do what you do to keep every one of them.
I want to thank Dr Chu for talking me into the upgrade after realizing I didn't think it was that bad. I was very nervous going in, and when he went in to talking to me just before the surgery made me feel very easy and the surgery went well. I walked out and couldn't believe the difference. I just had my left eye done yesterday and it's even better. I can read that chart. If you're doing this, it's a good thing to do. Take that upgrade.
I went into the washroom with my wife that afternoon, after the first surgery, and I looked at the colors on the chemicals above the washing machine. The Fabuloso was SO purple, the Tide was so orange.
I looked at my wallpaper and I said "It's ugly!" because it's the first time I really paid attention to see the colors.
Dr. Robert Chu is amazing! I've been a patient for 10+ years&could not be more satisfied with my experience. I first started going to Eyeworks (Hulen) in 2006 mainly because they specialize in Ortho-K lenses. I've been wearing Ortho-K since. Love not having to worry about contacts during the day! Its life changing (especially bc I suffer from seasonal itchy eyes during spring daytime)!! If you've never heard of Ortho-K, ask Eyeworks about it - a great option for contact wearers.
I switched to Southlake when they opened because it was closer. Every checkup is always A++! Dr.Chu is always kind, patient, caring and diligent. One time he refitted the shape of my Ortho-K lenses to better correct my vision overnight, and it has done wonders! He is skilled in his field and I know I can always trust his judgment/recommendation. Even though I moved to Austin past few years, I still always return to DFW for my eye exams.

I recently had cataract removal and crytalens implant on both eyes by Dr. Richards Chu. The surgeries went well, I was comfortable and hardly had any pain the whole times. Dr. Chu is highly skilled and his team is professional as well as cordial. I'm very satisfied and grateful to Dr. Chu and his wonderful staff and would recommend them to others
I just recently have cataract surgery. I was treated like a queen. Dr. Chu heard my concerns and followed through with that. He called that evening to check up on me. All follow up appts were professional and helpful. I was not a forgotten patient once my surgery was completed. I would recommend Eyeworks and the doctors to anyone! It's not just your neighborhood eye dr. It is a professional full care center. I will add that when I would go in for my checkups over the years, I was never pushed to purchase glasses or anything I did not need.
Very thorough. Great experience with cataract surgery. Excited to get other eye done and enjoy improved vision. Able to handle my complex needs. I've had three previous eye surgeries & have complex issues. Dr. Richard Chu was knowledgeable. Set up an immediate consult with a retina specialist to confirm need and success of cataract surgery. Made sure the retina specialist will follow me as well as his office. Worked with my insurance company to prescribe generic medications.
My husband and I have gone to Eyeworks for more than twenty years. We have always gotten comprehensive examinations and have been totally satisfied with the results. This summer I had cataract surgery. I cannot say enough positive things about the experience. Dr. Richard Chu explained all options to me. There was never any pain or discomfort during the surgeries or afterward. I can now read the eye chart at 20/20 with both eyes, something I have not been able to do since I was twelve years old. I was sent to Dr. Chu through the VA for cataract surgery. Since that first visit, I have had both eyes corrected and feel so much better due to my improved vision. The staff has always been courteous and gone out of their way to make me comfortable and at ease. I would recommend Eyeworks and of course the doctors at Cue Eye Associates. I especially want to thank the staff for the care I was given on my first visit as it wasn't my finest hour.

Dr. Chu. Looks quite young like one of my kids. Do not let that fool you. Dr. Chu is a truly a miracle worker. I've been wearing eyewear since they strapped my first pair on at 3 months old. 53 years. Had my first cataract removed yesterday and today, for the first time, I greeted the world without glasses. OMG. This is a game changer. I can see clearly now the cataract is gone. I can see all obstacles in my way. One more end of the month and my optometrist is down one customer. Woo who Dr. Richard Chu.
I had cataract surgery done by Dr. Richard Chu and it went extraordinarily well. No discomfort at all after surgery, no complications and I now have the 20/20 vision I have not had for years. He turned what I expected to be a worrying experience into something routine.
